STL Expands into Sweden

Two years after its founding through a strategic partnership between Geek+ and SystemTeknik, ST Logistics is now ready to introduce its autonomous mobile robot (AMR) solutions to the Swedish market. Following successful AMR implementations for inventory, warehouse, and logistics operations in several major and mid-sized Danish companies—such as Coolshop and Med24—ST Logistics is taking the next step in its Nordic expansion.

"We've seen a tremendous interest in Geek+ AMR solutions in Denmark, so expanding into the rest of the Nordic region is a natural next move for us. We're beginning with Sweden, where we've established STL Sverige AB in Landvetter,"
says Ole Madsen, CEO of ST Logistics.

The Swedish AMR market is growing rapidly, driven by technological advancements, increasing demands for efficiency, and a strong national focus on sustainability and digitalization. AMRs are primarily used in warehouse and logistics operations to optimize picking and transport, but their applications are expanding into manufacturing and healthcare as well.

To lead this market entry, Johan Nordström has been appointed Head of Sales, Sweden, and is strategically based at Handelshuset in Landvetter. With more than 25 years of experience in logistics, sales, and business development, Johan brings proven expertise in automation, e-commerce, transport, and supply chain management.

"I'm thrilled to take on this opportunity and look forward to joining the STL journey alongside colleagues and partners. I'm excited to help grow STL Sverige AB and build strong, lasting relationships in the Swedish market,"
says Johan Nordström.

Sweden’s demand for AMR solutions is driven by several factors, including labor shortages, sustainability goals, and the rapid rise of e-commerce. Advances in AI, IoT, and 5G have made AMRs more adaptable and scalable, broadening their potential use cases. These technologies support smarter resource utilization and cost reduction, making them appealing to both businesses and municipalities.

"We’re excited to welcome Johan as Head of Sales in Sweden. His deep industry knowledge, combined with our strong international team, will ensure solid support for Swedish customers and partners,"
adds Ole Madsen.

In the coming years, AMRs are expected to play an increasingly important role in warehouse and logistics automation. As first movers in warehousing, logistics, and e-commerce adopt more robotic solutions, ST Logistics’ AMR innovation ecosystem is poised to strengthen its position as a leading automation partner in the Nordics.

Despite regulatory hurdles and a need for standardization, the Nordic AMR market is projected to grow by 20–25% annually through 2030, with Sweden leading the way. Implementing AMRs is a strategic move to meet the future’s demands for efficiency, resilience, and agility—making these technologies essential for businesses and public-sector organizations alike.
